Ella McGuire, age 89, of Wyoming, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday April 13, 2013. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ann Babcock, parents, Conrad and Aurelia (Billeter) Walz, sisters Aurelia Duffin, Vera Brewerton and brothers Harlo Walz and David Walz. Ella is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Paul McGuire; daughter, Mary and Tom Howing of Ada; grandchildren, Nicholas, Andrew, and Matthew Howing; granddaughter, Joan (Dan) Kelley; great-grandchildren, Brandon Kelley, (serving in the US Navy) Amanda Kelley and Bryan Kelley; granddaughter, Barbara (Tim) Rood; great-grandchildren, Justin Piechocki, Dana Rood, Tara Rood; sisters, Rea Hall and Delpha Marshall; and many nieces and nephews. Ella was a devoted fan of the Detroit Tigers and Red Wings. The many crocheted gifts from her talented hands will be treasured. Her passion and joy was always for her family and putting them first. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday 11 am at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf 4031 Clyde Park, Wyoming with Fr. Donald Weber officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family at the funeral home from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm Tuesday with a Rosary service at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. Interment Rosedale Memorial Gardens.
