CANTON- Lester R. Sommerfeld, 85, died May 10, 1994, at Shiloh Manor Nursing Home, Canton.
He was born Jan. 2, 1909, at Canton, the son of John and Ora Young Sommerfeild. A longtime Canton resident, he was a retired machinist.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Canton.
On Feb. 24, 1935, he married Kathrina Janzen at Hesston. She died June 12, 1993.
Survivors include: two sons, Robert, Assaria, and Ronald, McPherson; a brother, Charley, LaJunta, Colo; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, Canton, with the Revs. Darrell Heidner and Ernest Clark presiding. Burial will be in the Canton Township Cemetery.
