Anneliese Ammon, age 83, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away late Friday afternoon, April 26, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital in Maumee. She was born September 9, 1929, in Bayreuth, Germany to Johann and Anna Fried. She met Robert H. Ammon in Germany while he was serving in the United States Army. They married in Germany on September 15, 1956. He preceded her in death on July 6, 1992.

Anneliese was known as "The little German Lady". Everyone enjoyed meeting her and being around her. She worked for Shasteen's catering and was a supervisor at Gladieux at The Toledo Express Airport, retiring in the late 80's. She was proud of her German heritage. She enjoyed German Hour, the German American Festival, and visits to Frankenmuth. She also loved spending time with her family at Lake LeAnn, and feeding and tending to her animals. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Robin Mickel, Annalisa Ammon-Zatko (Paul), and Candace Rosza (Greg); grandchildren, Paul Zatko III, Christopher Zatko, Anna Zatko, and Shelby Baumgartner, and sister, Hildegarde Tuamala.

Anneliese was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; 2 infant sons; son-in-law, James Mickel, and brother-in-law, Leo Tuamala.

Family and friends may visit Monday, April 29th, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 204 Chestnut St. in Swanton (419.826.2631).
