Doris was born on September 16, 1924 in Brooklyn, New York, one of three children of the late Joseph M. and Sarah G. (Thatford) Lamberson. She was raised and educated in Brooklyn, NY.
On August 25, 1944, she married her one and only true love, George E. Ballweg Jr. and as the wife of a military man they lived in Florida, New York, California, Oklahoma, Texas, Tennessee, Illinois, Canada, Massachusetts and Germany and after his retirement in 1970, settled in Chelmsford, MA. She worked as a Home Health Aide for several years and then for Dr. John A. Duggan's Optometrist office in Lowell and Chelmsford for 20 years.
The most important things to Doris were her faith and family. Although she moved frequently, she always became a member of a local church family where she served in many roles such as Sunday School teacher, Deaconess, and on hospitality and missions committees and more recently took on the role of Prayer Warrior. Doris enjoyed being a hostess and her door was always open. She loved cooking, crafts, knitting, swimming, traveling, and was known to always try something new.
She was the beloved wife of the late George E. Ballweg Jr. with whom she shared 63 years of marriage.
