BRIGHTON - Otto J. Stalder, 65, of Pleasant Plain died at the Washington county hospital at 2:30 this morning. Mr. Stalder had suffered several strokes recently and had been in failing health for some time.
Services will be held Monday at 9:30 a. m. at St. Josephs Catholic church in East Pleasant Plain in charge of Father Paul Wetzstein. The Omar Hoskins funeral home at Brighton are in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in the St. Josephs cemetery at Pleasant Plain. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday at Hoskins funeral home.
Mr. Stalder was born Nov. 20, 1887 in Switzerland, the son of John and Madaline Shumaker Stalder. He came to the United States 61 years ago and with his parents settled near Wayland. Mr. Stalder was reared in the Wayland community. He also lived in Washington and for the last three years in Pleasant Plain.
Mr. Stalder was never married.
Survivors include two brothers, Joseph of Pleasant Plain and Amil of Washington, two sisters, Mrs. Leah Kauffman of Washington and Mrs. Emma Shelangoski of Pleasant Plain. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Fred."
