Edith Ida was born and raised on the Blabaum homestead on Pompeys Pillar Road. She spent her entire married life on the Gabler Homestead on McCarthy Road, rural Highland, Wisconsin, with the exception of the first year or so.

Edith Ida died of pneumonia shortly after giving birth to her fourth child, leaving to mourn her passing her husband and 4 daughters age 9 years and younger.
