Jean Elizabeth Balkwill Port Huron Jean Elizabeth Balkwill, 86, of Port Huron, died Friday, December 3, 2010 in the same home she was born in. She was born April 15, 1924 in Port Huron to the late Henry and Ida Langolf. She married her high school sweetheart, Richard Balkwill, on January 15, 1944 in Port Huron. Mrs. Balkwill was active in PTA, church and scouting for many years when her children were young. All three sons became Eagle Scouts. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and making special desserts, but most of all making time for her family. She graduated from Port Huron High School. She is survived by her husband, Richard Sr.; three sons, Richard Jr. "Skip" (Shirley) Balkwill of Pennsylvania and Thomas (Kathy) Balkwill and William (Gail) Balkwill, all of Florida; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a great great grandchild; two sisters, Ruth (Alex) DeJonge of Florida and Shirley Diller of Port Huron; a brother-in-law, William Balkwill of Port Huron; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynda Jean. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2010 in the Lakeside Cemetery Chapel. Inurnment will be in Allied Veterans Cemetery Columbarium. Memorial contributions may be made to any charity. Arrangements are by Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
