PROMINENT ARCOLA BUSINESSMAN DIES
Arcola, Ill. — John Christian Ludolph, 72, a prominent Arcola clothing store operator for 50 years, died today in Jarman Hospital in Tuscola. He had entered the hospital Tuesday following a short illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Shrader funeral home in Arcola, with burial in the Arcola cemetery.
Mr. Ludolph was born July 17, 1875, at Guxhagen, Germany, and came to Arcola in 1892. He established his store in 1897. He married Miss Emma Schwanz Oct. 23, 1904.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Carl at home; two daughters, Misses Margaret and Edna of Chicago; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Knoop of Arcola and Mrs. Anna Klein and Mrs. A. Lieschen Staufenberg in Germany, and a brother, Henry, in Germany.
Mr. Ludolph was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical church.
