Helene Peters was born April 15, 1926, the daughter of George and Anna (Fischer) Peters, three miles west of Tea, South Dakota. She was baptized on June 19, 1927 by Pastor Paul Bieger and was confirmed on March 21, 1948 in the Tea Trinity Lutheran Church by Pastor Theo G. Kuehmer.
She worked for different farmers in that vicinity until March 12, 1954 when she married LuVerne "Doc" F. Strasser of Chancellor, South Dakota.
They lived in Chancellor until April 1, 1957, when they moved to one of the Bone's Herford Ranch farms were the lived until her husband's death on May 2, 1978, which ended 24 years of married life. She then moved back to her home in Chancellor. Helene was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and the Lennox Senior Citizens.
She was preceded in death by her Father in 1958 and her Mother in 1965, 5 sisters: Anna in 1926, Frieda in 1935, Etta in 1983, Marie 2002 and Johanna in 2011; three brothers: one in 1920, George G. in 1978 and Fred in 1995.
Surviving are her son Vernon and daughter-in-law, Nora of Wichita, Kansas and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
