November 4, 1821, at the seventh hour, Catherina Roell was born and baptized. She is the legitimate daughter of George Roell resident of this place and his wife Barbara who was born Thyri. She was held by Catherina Roell, as yet unmarried.

She arrived in New Orleans with her Husband on May 2, 1849. The name of the ship was the Marion.

A copy of the marriage record was obtained from the IRAD at the University of Southern Illinois: "ST Clair County" County, Ill, "19th January" 18"65", I, "Bartholomeu Bartels a Catholic Priest of Milstadt" hereby certify that on this day I joined in marriage, Mr. "Bernhard Steevens" with "Mrs Catherine Petry, born Roehl" agreeably to law. (Signed) Bartholomew Bartels Cath PrieSt (The section between quotes was written by hand on a preprinted form.
