Sioux Falls, SD ~ Dusan Ivanic, age 82, died on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls.

A graveside service will be held at 3:30 PM on Monday, July 8, 2013 at Hills of Rest Memorial Park in Sioux Falls.

Dusan Ivanic was born on May 9, 1931 in Kljuc, Bosnia and Hercegovina/Jugoslavija to Dane and Mileva (Despot) Ivanic.

He began working for the forestry service at the age of 16, and quickly rose through the ranks becoming a manager in different work stations in Grmec Mountain. On December 25, 1949 Dusan was united in marriage with Manda Dragicevic. From this union the couple was blessed with two sons and a daughter. Following many years in the forestry industry, Dusan moved into Sanski Most to become a city director. He retired in 1990, only to take up the full-time position of grandpa.

Dusan and Manda moved to the United States in 1997, to be closer to family. Manda died on March 27, 2012.

Dusan was a man with great principles and a perfectionist work ethic. By far his greatest love was for his family. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend who will be deeply missed.

Grateful for having shared his life are his children, Braco Ivanic and his wife, Maida, Sioux Falls, Marijan Ivanic and his wife, Dusanka of Charlottesville, VA, and Nada Jovicic and her husband, Zoran of Zadar, Croatia; seven grandchildren, Isak, Ognjen, Ivan, Jelena, Masa, Vedran and Luka; three great-grandchildren, Lucca, Michah and Ezra.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother, Jovo Ivanic and two sisters, Rosa and Borka.
