Andrew was the son of Michael and Barbara Selman Deuerling. He worked as a machinist his entire life, with his last job being with Continental Can Company. His home was at 2716 Hazelton Avenue, North Side, Pittsburgh. Andrew and Matilda had 4-daughters: Mildred A. Deuerling (04 February 1914-05 April 1998), Grace Deuerling Rafferty (19 March 1917-29 June 1996), Lillian Matilda Deuerling Waldorf (15 June 1918-26 December 1934), and Lavina Barbara Deuerling DiCaterino (26 June 1921-16 April 2003). Andrew died in Allegheny General Hospital from complications of prostate cancer.
