Mrs. Bracknell was born March 8, 1932, in Hancock County and was a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast. She was a homemaker and a retired Avon salesperson. She was a member of Northwood Christian Center in Gulfport.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wiley and Felicia Woods; and four sisters, Golda Mae Stone, Margie Armstrong, Bargie Rogers and Charlena Woodard.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Raymond Alex Bracknell of Gulfport; two sons and their wives, Jarvis and Peggy Bracknell of Gulfport and Steven and Sharon Bracknell of Decatur, AL; three daughters and their husbands, Alice and Rick Weidemann, Dianne and Al Skok, and Ramona and Ronnie Howard, all of Gulfport; one brother, Richard Woods of Gulfport; six sisters, Doris Witt of Odessa, WA, Donnie Patterson, Cleta Bullock, Ruby Lindsey and Barbara Jackson, all of Gulfport, and Linda Clark of Forrest, Ohio; 21 grandchildren, Jarvis Jr. and Jeanette Bracknell, Stephaine and Bobby Creed, Nicholas and Renee Bracknell, Jenny and Brad Smiley, Lori and Dustan Ladner, Tony Legette, Charles Tavel, Raymond Cameron, Shannon Cameron, Anthony Cameron, Brian Skok, Bradley Skok, Christopher Skok, Cassandra Skok, Victoria N. Bracknell, Trey Barrett, Cody Bracknell, Lisa and Wiley Smith, Clarissa Bracknell, Ron Howard and Shalane Howard; 11 great-grandchildren, Ariel, Brayden and Tyler Bracknell, Bradley and Katelyn Smiley, Desiree Ladner, Brittney Legette, Jerrica, Erica and Taylor Cameron, and Chase Smith; nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 13, 1999, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, U.S. 49 North, Gulfport. The funeral service will be held Friday, May 14, 1999, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with burial in Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport.
