Bob Seewald, 78, of Longmont, died August 26, 2011 at HospiceCare in Louisville, CO.

Bob was born in Frederick, Colorado on July 30, 1933, the son of Peter and Opal (Steinbach) Seewald. He graduated from Longmont High School in 1951 and joined the family farming business. In 1954 he joined the United States Army, serving during the Korean War, being honorably discharged in 1956.

On June 1, 1957 he married Elaine Becker in Longmont. Ironically, Bob was born in the house that his future wife was living in when they met.

Bob was a member of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the V.F.W. and the American Legion.

Bob farmed the family farm south of Longmont until 1996. He purchased a farm near Ogallala, Nebraska in 2000. He sold that farm in 2010 and moved back to Longmont full time.

The consummate salesman, Bob began selling cars from his farm. In 1979, he purchased a lot for his used car business. His daughter continues to operate the business on South Main Street.

Survivors include his 2 sons and his 2 daughters. He is further survived by his sister, 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

His parents preceded Bob in death, as well as his former wife Elaine, his brothers Peter, Jr, Lawrence, Joseph, Jake and Dean Seewald and his sisters Elizabeth Hudgens and Betty Lechman.

Cremation has been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services.

Vigil services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tues, August 30 at the Howe Mortuary Chapel. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 31 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at Foothills Gardens of Memory.
