Janet Carey Sanders, 91, of Spencer, IN, formerly of Sandborn, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2012, in Spencer. She was born on November 29, 1921 in Linton, IN, to David and Isabelle (Cunningham) Davidson. She married John Franklin Sanders on December 21, 1939.

Janet was employed as an LPN with the Freelandville Community Home and the Lyons Health and Rehabilitation Center. She retired in 1985. She was a member of the Sandborn Christian Church, past worthy matron of the Eastern Star of Sandborn, Odon OES, Federated Women's Club, Cosmopolitan Club of Sandborn and the Ladies' Auxiliary Club of American Legion Post #22 in Linton.

Survivors include her son, Doug (Janie) Sanders of Spencer, IN; daughter, Debbie (Tom) Sanders Brown of San Francisco, CA; grandchildren, Julie Morrison, Jeff Neal, Jennifer Thompson, Wendee Staisch and Amanda Singleton and 12 Great-grandchildren.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Franklin Sanders; a daughter, Patty Sanders Neal; 4 brothers, William, Alec, Robert and Douglas Davidson; sisters, Dorothy Maxwell and Mary McVay.

The family has requested for those that wish, that memorial contributions be made to the Sandborn First Christian Church and American Breast Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, December 10, 2012 at the Sandborn First Christian Church with Bryan Sanders officiating.

Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 9, 2012 and at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Monday, December 10, 2012. Interment will follow in the Sandborn Cemetery in Sandborn, Indiana. There will be an Eastern Star service held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

The family has entrusted all funeral arrangements to Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton, IN.
