Mrs. Robert Hamm, nee Gertrude Irene Schoen, was born in this city on August 8th,1884, the only daughter of Dr. and Mrs. A. F. Schoen. She grew to young womanhood in this city, and on October 14th, 1908, was united in marriage to Robert Hamm. Two sons were born to bless this union. Their first-born, however, preceded the mother in death, in infancy. She is survived by her husband, and son Robert, Jr. Besides these, she is survived by her father, Dr. A. F. Schoen, of this city, and the following brothers: Walter at Milwaukee, Roland at Beaver Dam, Reginald at Markesan, August at Rochester, Penn., Bertram at Kohler.
Funeral services were held at the family residence, Tuesday afternoon, at two o'clock, and were in charge of the Eastern Star. District Attorney John A. Thiel eulogized the deceased at Turner Hall. The funeral was largely attended by her many friends and neighbors with a large number of out-of-town relatives and friends. An unusually large number of floral tributes were received from loyal relatives and friends. Interment took place in Graceland cemetery.
The mourning relatives have the sympathy of the community at the untimely death of the wife and mother.
