Jolene Galligan, age 51, of Waverly, IA, formerly of St. Lucas, IA, died on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 17, 2013, at St. Luke's 307 E. Main St. Catholic Church in St. Lucas, Iowa, with Rev. Nick March presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday and after 9:00a.m. on Saturday at the church.

Jolene Mary (Mihm) Galligan was born along with her twin sister Jacque December 25, 1961 at the St. Joseph's Hospital in New Hampton, Iowa to Marinus and Margaret (Mitchell) Mihm. Jolene attended St. Luke's Schools and graduated from Turkey Valley High School in 1980.

After high school she graduated from UNI in Cedar Falls, IA with a Food and Nutrition Degree and then went on and received a Dietetic Degree from ISU in Ames. Jolene married William "Bill" Galligan on August 11, 1984 at St. Luke's Catholic Church in St. Lucas.

While living in Cedar Falls she managed the Rocky Rococo's in Waterloo and Cedar Falls, she was dining Unit Manager at UNI, and also had her own Dietetic Consulting business. While living in Mason City, IA she was the Clear Lake Schools, Dining Manager. Then when they moved back to Waverly, she was the Waterloo Schools, Dining Manager. She also worked for HyVee as a Dietetic Manager.

Jolene loved to cook, winning many awards for her recipes. She also wrote a cookbook for a cancer foundation fund raiser. Jolene liked to travel and go camping and was the most happy when she could do these things with her family. Jolene was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church in Waverly and the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority.

Jolene's survivors include her husband: Bill Galligan Waverly, IA. Son: Paul Galligan, Cedar Falls, IA. Two daughters: Ashley (special friend Robert Beatty and his son Brayden) Waverly, IA, Nicole Gallligan Waverly, IA. Two brothers: Gary (Janice) Mihm, West Union, IA, Bill (Sandy) Mihm, St. Lucas, IA. Two sisters: Deb (Steve) Pesek, New Hampton, IA, Tammy (Al) Thornton, Decorah, IA. Brother-in-law: Jim (Kris) Cayton, Kalona, IA. Mother-in-Law: Agnes Galligan, Lawler, IA. Sister-in-law: Sue (Jeff) Busta, Calmar, IA. Brothers-in-law: Bob Galligan, Americus, KS, Patrick (Channon) Galligan, Wausau, WI. and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Marinus (Margaret Mitchell) Mihm. Twin sister: Jacque Cayton, January 27, 2007. Father-in-law: Paul Galligan, May 27, 1974.
