Marinus Mihm, age 88, of West Union, Iowa, formerly of St. Lucas, Iowa, died on Sunday, June 21, 2009, at the Stony Brook Assisted Living Home in West Union, Iowa.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at St. Luke's Catholic Church in St. Lucas, Iowa, with Rev. Marvin Salz presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 3:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and until 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the Historic St. Luke's Chapel in St. Lucas, Iowa.

There will be a scripture service at 7:00 p.m., followed by a rosary at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening.

Marinus' survivors include his two sons: Gary (Janice) Mihm, West Union, IA and Bill (fiancée Sandy Hageman) Mihm, St. Lucas, IA. Three daughters: Deb (Stephen) Pesek, New Hampton, IA; Tammy (Al) Thornton, Decorah, IA and Jolene (Bill) Galligan, Waverly, IA. One son-in-law: Jim Cayton, Kalona, IA. Fifteen grandchildren: Cary Jo Mihm, Scott Mihm, Wendy Mihm (Alvin) Herold, Jeremy (Michelle) Pesek, Jamey Pesek, Joshua (fiancé Katie) Pesek, Adam, Lucas, and Taisha Thornton, Paul, Ashley and Nichole Galligan, Erin, Courtney and Emily Cayton. Eight great grandchildren: Brogan, Hannah & Riley Mihm, Mitchell & Jake Herold, Hunter & Hailey Pesek, and Tyler Pesek. Two step-great grandchildren: Hailey & Taylor Mork. Two sisters: Alfreida (Clet) Koshatka, Protivin, IA and Alice Kacher, Fort Atkinson, IA. One brother: Donald (Charlotte) Mihm, St. Lucas, IA. Three sisters-in-law: Bonnie Mitchell, Charles City, IA; Marion Thomas, West Des Moines, IA and Delores (Don) Blong, St. Lucas, IA. One brother-in-law: Donald (Mary Ann) Mitchell, Louisville, KY.

Marinus was preceded in death by his parents: One daughter: Jacque Cayton in 2007. One sister: Bernadine (Al) Dietzenbach. Four brothers-in-law: Melvin Kacher, Bernard Mitchell, Alfred Mitchell and Paul Thomas.
