The Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of Agnes M. Schwinghammer, age 92 of Freeport, will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 7 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Agnes died Saturday at the Albany Area Hospital. There will be a visitation from 4-8:00 PM Tuesday evening at the Miller-Carlin-Brenny Funeral Home in Albany, and again after 9:30 AM Wednesday at the church in Freeport. Sacred Heart parish prayers will be at 4:30 PM Tuesday at the funeral home in Albany.
Agnes was born July 19, 1917 in St. Rosa to Henry and Elizabeth (VonBokern) Beuning. She grew up in the St. Rosa area and married Edward Schwinghammer, June 14, 1938. The couple farmed for most of their life in the Pierz area before moving to Little Falls and then back to Freeport in 1988. Agnes worked as a clerk at McGuire Drug in Pierz for many years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport.
Agnes is survived by her sons; Gerald (Pam) Schwinghammer, Prior Lake; James Schwinghammer, Lake Nebagaban, WI; David Schwinghammer, Little Falls; John (Sharon) Schwinghammer, Pierz; Roger Schwinghammer, White Bear Lake and Rodney (Helen) Schwinghammer, St. Cloud. She is also survived by her sisters, Sally Viere, Melrose; Connie Hoeschen, Mahnoman; Rose Spanier, St. Joseph; nine grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Agnes is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edward in 1994, and infant son, Edward Jr. and her brothers and sisters; Jerry Beuning, Ambrose Beuning, Bill Beuning, Lawrence Beuning, Ann Kuffel and Martha Timp.
