Genevieve Andreas was born June 27, 1937 at Belfield, the daughter of Nick and Katherine (Rychkun) Andreas. She was raised and educated in Driscoll and Fryburg, graduating from Fryburg High School.

Genevieve was united in marriage to Arthur Meduna on August 25, 1958, and to this union nine children were born. They have made Belfield their home to raise their family. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, watching birds, putting puzzles together and the company of her cats, Dodo and Blacky. Visiting with family and friends was important, especially with Bernie Obrigewitch and Tilly Kuntz. Doing embroidery, trichem paints, watching QVC, HGTV, Duck Dynasty with Michael, NASCAR racing, watching football and betting on the Super Bowl with son-in-law, David (usually winning) were all enjoyable activities for Genevieve. Her family and Ukrainian heritage were special to her, dying Ukrainian Easter eggs, and chasing storms and star gazing with her sister, JoAnn.

Genevieve is survived by her husband, Art; their eight children, Diane (David) Berger, Hebron, Katherine Meduna, Fargo, Sheryl Hoodie, Belfield, JoAnn (Kevin) Staub, Bismarck, Linda (Ken) Johnson, Lakeville, Minn., Karen (Jason Praus) Tormaschy, Belfield, David (Rita) Meduna, Billings, Mont., and Brian (Kristie Mellmer) Meduna, Dickinson; 16 grandchildren, Dale Berger, Donna Berger, Debbie Berger, DeJay Berger, Katie Schoenbeck, Shannon Schoenbeck, Taitum Hoodie, Karrie Cunningham, Kayla Staub, James Staub, Amanda Connolly, Jessica Hoodie, Derek Hoodie, Darin Tormaschy, Michael Praus and Matthew Kasian; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Olga Schumacher, Mandan; brother, George (Rose Marie) Andres, Belfield; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan; parents; grandparents; sister, JoAnn (Ronald) Egly; grandchild, Brandon Meduna; and brother-in-law, Albert Schumacher.
