Gisela K. Mortimer of 43 Stewart Road, Oil City. died at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, in the spinal unit of Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo, N.Y.

Born in Frankfurt, Germany, she was a daughter of Mrs. Eleonore Kiefer of Oil City and the late Karl Kiefer.

In August 1959, she purchased Gordon's Beauty Salon and operated it as Gisela's Beauty Salon until illness forced her retirement.

Mrs. Mortimer attended Charles of the Ritz Advanced Hair Fashions in 1961 and the Coiffure Creation Academy in 1962.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Oil City, and was a past president of the Winnifred Tonkin Guild.

Mrs. Mortimer also served as chairman of the Oil City Mothers March for the March of Dimes from 1973 to 1975.

She enjoyed Needlepoint and painting.

Mrs. Mortimer was married in Frankfurt Germany, July 1, 1953 to Donald E. Mortimer, who survives.

Also surviving are her mother, Eleonore Kiefer of Oil City, and a daughter, Mrs. James (Janice) Pennington of Buffalo, N.Y.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Eleonore Mortimer.

The Morrison Funeral Home, Oil City, is in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation.

A memorial service will be held at 1:20 p.m. Saturday in Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. John W. Stevenson, pastor, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to a charity of one's choice.
