Melvin Trost, age 78, of 1500 N. 3rd St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday, October 13, 1999, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 16, 1999, at Holy Innocents Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Mathew Simonar, with burial of his cremated remains at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Melvin was born September 27, 1921, in the town of Newton, Manitowoc County, son of the late George and Mary Loritz Trost. He was educated in the Manitowoc public schools and owned and operated Mel’s Surf & Turf Restaurant for many years prior to his retirement. He was a member of Holy Innocents Catholic Church.

Survivors include his sister, Marie A. Scherer, Manitowoc; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Trost, Manitowoc; special friend, Shari Krejcarek, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn Leiker and Cecile Holbrook and four brothers, Charles, Leonard, George and Norbert Trost.

Relatives and friends may call at Holy Innocent Catholic Church after 10 a.m. Saturday, until the time of service.

Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with arrangements.
