On 17 May 1892, Peter Amman died at his home in Erie, Pennsylvania from pneumonia according to the obituary in the Erie Dispatch.
On 11 Apr, 1893, Elizabeth Pfeffer Amman married Anton Otteni, however, she died on 27 Aug 1895.
Because Anton Otteni was the only father the boys really knew, they chose to use and go by Otteni surname throughout life.
