My father enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh at age 16! By age 21, Jabe was a practicing dentist in Coreapolis. After serving in WW II and the
Korean War (stationed in Berlin), he decided to go west to California.
He met his wife, actress Diane Brewster and after their marriage, he set up his practice as an Oral Surgeon in Burbank, CA. They purchase a home in Studio City and mom gave birth first to my brother, Dean C. Walker (1960) and then to me, Lynn D. Walker (1961).
Unfortunately, Diane passed away unexpectedly after a heart attack in 1991 (she was only 60 yes. Old). Dad went on to travel and enjoy salmon fishing in Alaska whenever possible. He eventually found a wonderful companion in a longtime family friend who had also lost her spouse. Joan and dad traveled, took in shows, concerts and theater while never missing an opportunity to enjoy family, friends and great NY Steaks on the grill (rare or med rare, of course)!
We miss our mom and dad every minute of every day, but are so grateful to have had such loving, dedicated, and honorable parents.
