LERCH FUNERAL RITES TUESDAY
Private Rites Will Be Conducted For Music Store Head
Private funeral services for D. W. Lerch, 60, retired Canton businessman, will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. from the home, 979 Cleveland Ave. N.W. Daniel Kraizer of the First Church of Christ Scientist, will be in charge. Burial will be in Westlawn cemetery.
Mr. Lerch, who was born at Bethel, Pennsylvania, Dec. 10, 1973, died Saturday night in Mercy hospital. A paralytic stroke at his home Friday afternoon resulted in death.
Following his education in the public schools, Mr. Lerch attended Palatinate College at Myerstown, Pennsylvania, and was later graduated from the New England conservatory of music in Boston. He came to Canton in 1895 and for six years was a piano tuner. In 1901 he was married to Miss Ellen Berger, member of a pioneer family. In 1903, with G. A. Leonard, he purchased the music store of Louis Vitak. A year later that partnership was dissolved and he owned and operated Lerch piano store until 1930, at which time he retired.
Mr. Lerch was a member of Brookside, Congress Lake and Canton clubs. He was a Mason, and Elk and a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge.
He leaves his widow; four children . . . . ., all of the home, and a grandson.
