PICK CITY — Walter Isaak, 87, Pick City, passed away on Dec. 27, 2012, at Sanford Health, Bismarck. Services will be held at 2 p.m. CST Monday, Dec. 31, at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Pick City, with the Rev. Dean Hartley officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Barbot-Seibel Funeral Home, Hazen.

Walter was born March 6, 1925, on the home place to David and Rosalia (Guenthner) Isaak. After marrying Hulda, Walter had various jobs including: delivering bulk gas, running the county blade and working on the Garrison Dam. When his father had health concerns, Walter began farming and loved every minute of it. Walter was on the board of ASCS and the Underwood Elevator. He was on the church board and was instrumental in planning the planting and harvesting of Trinity's farmland.

Walter and Hulda were well known for their smooth dancing. It was one of their joys! Walter loved polka music and listened to it over and over again! Walter was in the German Club and enjoyed singing German music with his group.

After retiring, Walter and Hulda spent winters in Arizona and made many lifelong friends. He continued to go to Arizona a few years after his wife died. Walter lived in Prairieview Nursing Home in Underwood from 2010 until the time of his death.

Walter is survived by his children, Sandra (Phil) Eastgate, Mandan, David (Cheryl) Isaak, Pick City, Valerie (Tom) Sayler, Stanton, and Kevin Isaak, Pick City; 14 grandchildren, Chad Isaak, Alicia Maestos, Aaron Isaak, Derek Isaak, Deann Burnelle, Stacey Bush, Cassie Bush, Ashley Stillwell, Jessica Eastgate, Michael Sayler, John Sayler, Kayla Isaak, Steven Isaak and Shane Isaak; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Hildegard Wallender, Beulah, and Jeanette Zeller, Spokane, Wash.; one brother, Armand Isaak, Glen Ullin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Hulda; his parents; five sisters; two brothers; and one grandson, Matthew Isaak.
