Mary Jane (Pokorny) Metcalf, age 78, of Carmichaels, Pa., died Saturday, June 25, 2005, at 9:30 a.m. in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia.

She was born June 1, 1927, in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of Edward Louis Pokorny and Mary Magdalene Jendrynski Pokorny.

Mary Jane was a member of Saint Hugh Roman Catholic Church in Carmichaels and had been a Retail Sales Manager for many years at the Uniontown Mall, Uniontown, Pa.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Dennis Metcalf, and a sister, Rita Pokorny Mooney.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Cecil Metcalf; two daughters: Carolyn and her husband, Ed McIntire, of Carmichaels, Pa., and Laura and her husband, James Jelinek, of Chicago, Illinois; a daughter-in-law, C. D. Metcalf of Carmichaels, Pa.; five grandchildren: Kathy Cyr, Tracy Doman, Tara Grim, Brian Metcalf and Melissa Metcalf; two great grandchildren: Chelsea Cyr and Devan Doman; and her beloved dog, Missy.

Friends will be received in the PAUL MICHAEL LESAKO FUNERAL HOME INC., Paul M. Lesako, Supervisor/Funeral Director, 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, June 28, until 9:30 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held.

A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. in Saint Hugh Roman Catholic Church, Carmichaels, with the Rev. Father John A. Bauer as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg, Pa.

The family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association or the Brain Tumor Association.
