LOUIS COHN 77, CALLED BY DEATH

Louis Cohn, 77, a wholesale hosiery dealer and resident of Dallas for twenty-one years, died Saturday at his home, 4323 Beverly, after an illness of six weeks. The Rev.L. Valentine Lee will conduct funeral services at 4 p.m. Monday in the Weiland Funeral Church and burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mr. Cohn was a native of Cleveland, Ohio, and spent his early life there coming to Dallas in 1920 from Meridan, (sic - Meridian) Miss., where he had been in the cotton business for several years. For many years he had been active in the work of the Dallas Rotary Club.

Surviving Mr. Cohn are his daughter, Mrs. Linwood Griffin; two sons, Charles K.(Killgore) Cohn and W. L. Cohn, and seven grand children all of Dallas.

(Note by C. Krueger) His death certificate says he died of an accident. Tripped and fell on linoleum in his office. Louis was married on eleven January 1886 to Susannah (Susie) D. Lord, daughter of John Lord (Find A Grave No. 75708895) and wife Amanda S. (Killgore) Lord (Find A Grave No. 70494978). His daughter and two sons listed above were born of his marriage to Susannah. Susannah (Lord) Cohn died in 1899 at age thirty-five in Meridian Mississippi. I have not found where she is buried.
