WESSINGTON SPRINGS – The Rev. Thomas D. Lutz, 75, former pastor of Emmanuel Baptist church in Wessington Springs, died Friday at Rochester, Minn.
The funeral will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Free Methodist Church with the Rev. Darwin Stahl, pastor of Emmanual Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.

WESSINGTON SPRINGS – Funeral for Rev. Thomas Daniel Lutz, who died Jan. 28 in Rochester, Minn., was held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Free Methodist church, Wessington springs, with the Rev. Darwin Stahl officiating. Interment was in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Lutz was born July 29, 1901, to Thomas and Katherine Lutz at Pleasant Valley, N.D. He lived on a farm with his parents until 1918 when he moved to Carrington, N.D. In the fall of 1928, he went to Rochester, N.Y., and entered the seminary, graduating in 1932. He attended one year postgraduate study at Coal Gate Rochester Divinity School and in 1934 began his ministry at Junction City, Kan. On June 10, 1936, he married Reva Klamm of Detroit, Kan. The Rev. Lutz served the Ebenezar and Immanuel Baptist churches at Wessington Springs since 1960.
Survivors include his widow; one son, Thomas, Rochester, Minn.; two sisters, Tena Siebold, Carrington, and Anna Itterman, Orlando, Fla.; four brothers, Herman, Albert and Werner, all of Carrington, and Fred of Placida, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
