Peter was baptized as Johann Peter Jacobi on 9 Nov 1766, in Berks County, Pa, Denomination Lutheran, per Personal Register of the Rev. Daniel Schumacher, pg. 123, in the Pennsylvania and New Jersey, U.S., Church and Town Records.

Peter served as private or officer of the Militia or Frontier during the Revolution. In 1785 named as private in Class 2 of the 8th Company (Peter Middagh, Capt.) of Militia in the 5th Battalion of Northampton Company. HIs brother in law, Robert Simanton was in the same class. In return April 1794, by the Bridget Inspector , Peter is designated as Ensign, or color bearer in the 4th Company in the 4th Company, Capt. Jas. Williamson and of the 8th Regiment, commanded by Lt. Peter inherited his father's, Henri estate and at the time of his own death had not been completed. Peter was a farmer, with home located in Lower Mt. Bethel. (pg. 153-155 Jacoby).
Peter and Mary Jacoby union resulted in fifteen children: James, Daniel, Eleanor, Elizabeth, George, Henry, Jerimiah, John, Margaret, Mary, Peter James, Sarah (infant), Sarah, Susanna, and William.
