Peter Proehl was the son of Johan Proehl. Johan Proehl as well as his 2 brothers Ludwig (Louis) and Hermann came to America from Germany. Johann's son Peter came later and stayed with Louis and his family in Illinois. Hermann stayed with his brother Louis for a while before heading out West, settling in Lyon Co, KS.
