Walter Wilson served as a Captain under command of General William Heny Harrison and commanded a company of Infantrymen in the November 1811 Battle of Tippecanoe (Present-day Tippecanoe County, Indiana).
He served in the militia at Fort Vincennes, Knox county, Indiana and was later commissioned a General.
