Mrs. Lula Shelton
WEAVERVILLE - Mrs. Lula Grooms Shelton, 53, of Rt. 1, died Sunday morning in an Asheville hospital after a long illness.
She was a native of Madison County and had lived in Buncombe County for 20 years.
Surviving are two sons, Johnny of Swannanoa, and Jimmy Grooms of Alexander; two daughters, Mrs. Bruce English and Mrs. Weidon Wilde, both of Mars Hill; five sisters, Mrs. T. O. Coates of Marshall Rt. 6, Mrs. Ronnie Waldroup of Asheville, Mrs. Annie Dill of Weaverville Rt. 1, Mrs. Curt Ingle of Greeneville, Tenn., and Mrs. Arnold Hensley of Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother, Pender Ingle of Weaverviile Rt. 1; a half- brother, Fowler Norton of Weaverviile Rt. 1; and five grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p. m. in Peeks Chapel Baptist Church.
The Rev. Arthur Hensley, the Rev. Ransom Edwards and the Rev. George Burchett will officiate. Burial will be in the Dill family cemetery. Nephews will be pallbearers.
The body will remain at Bowman-Duckett Funeral Home until taken to the church for the service.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 7 to 9 p. m.
