George L Myers, one of the old residents and well known farmers of the Barry district died at his farm home Saturday, January 5 from pleurisy. Deceased was born in Fayette county, Iowa April 25, 1866 and came to Minnesota with his parents in December 1878 settling in Graceville where the family remained until the following spring when they settled on a farm north of Barry. On October 28, 1885 George was married to Mary Agnes Kelly of Iowa. They remained on his father's farm until 1889 when the deceased settled on a farm of his own and resided upon the same piece of land until his death. Besides the widow deceased leaves seven children: John L., Mrs. John Betts, Frank L., Mary Grace, Sarah Jane, Archibald P. and George Dewey, all residing at home except Mrs. Betts. He also leaves six brothers and sisters: W.H., James T. and Mrs. Dan Coughlin of this city, A.A. of Graceville, Michael and Margaret J. of Barry. The funeral was held Tuesday morning from St. Barnaby's church, Rev. Fr. Barron officiating. Interment being made in St. Mary's cemetery in Beardsley. Beardsley News, January 10, 1918
