Margaret E. Albin, 94, of Owatonna, Minnesota, died Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Koda Living Community.

Margaret was born May 24, 1919 in Flandreau, South Dakota the daughter of Fred and Mae (Cunningham) Sorg. There she was raised and attended school. She worked a lot with her father on the family farm. Margaret then attended school studying welding and then moved to California where she worked in a naval shipyard as a welder. She was one of the best welders to work in the shipyard. There she met her future husband, Donald, while he was serving in the armed forces. The couple married October 6, 1943. They made their home in Hope, Minnesota. Margaret worked as a census worker for Steele County. In 1972, they moved to Pueblo West, Colorado. Donald died in 2008. Margaret moved to Owatonna in 2010 and she entered the Valley View Care Center and later Koda Living Community.

Margaret enjoyed sewing, was an excellent seamstress and also enjoyed canning. She always kept busy and was a hard worker. She enjoyed puzzles and especially bible study.

She is survived by a son Dale Albin of Faribault; three daughters Linda (and Ron) Mohs of Chandler, AZ; Martha Callahan of Chandler, AZ; Nyla (and Jesus) Rivera of Parker, CO; three sisters June Plathe of Owatonna; Retha Farrell of Brownsdale; Jean Alne of Northwoods, IA; a brother Lowell Sorg of Austin; eight grandchildren Misty (and Troy) Mullenbach; Michelle (and Jody) Jandt; Missy (and Dan) Meier; James Rivera; Ryan Mohs; Donnie (and Mandy) Rivera; Jenny (and Matt) Smith; Laressia Rivera and seven great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Donald, two daughters Mary and Marsha and her parents.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM on Friday, November 29, 2013 in Imperial Memorial Gardens, Pueblo, Colorado. Arrangements by Michaelson Funeral Home.
