Marvin Lester Loyd, Sr., a resident of Wynne, Arkansas, departed this life, Wednesday, November 20, 2013, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, at the age of seventy-two.
He was born, on June 10, 1941, in Vanndale, Arkansas, the son of Harold White and Hazel Viola Jones Loyd.
He was of the Baptist faith and was a 1961 graduate of Vanndale High School. Mr. Loyd was a self employed surveyor working for many rice and soybean farmers in the community. He enjoyed watching deer on his property and coon hunting. Marvin loved joking with everyone right to the end, and loved spending time with his family and friends.
Mr. Loyd was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Harold and Roland Loyd, and one sister: Kathryn Rolland.
Marvin is survived by one son: Marvin Loyd, Jr. and wife Donna of Hickory Plains, Arkansas, two daughters: Benita South and Cheryl Peevey both of Wynne, Arkansas, two brothers: Elmer Loyd of Cherry Valley, Arkansas, Russell Loyd of Wynne, Arkansas, seven grand children, and one great grand-child.
Funeral services were at the Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home chapel in Wynne. Interment was in Harris Chapel Cemetery, in Wynne, Arkansas.
