The home was beautifully decorated with cut flowers, and the event was a most enjoyable one. Mr. and Mrs. Gerard were married fifty years ago in Belgium. Mrs. Gerard, whose maiden name was Anna Jackett, was born in Belgium. Mr. Gerard was born in France. They were each 24 years old when they were married, and are 73 years old now. They have numerous grandchildren and two great grandchildren, all of whom were present at the celebration last evening. Mrs. Bertha Le Clare, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerard, of Chicago, was also present.

Mr. and Mrs. Gerard came to this country in 1856. It took them forty-two days and forty-two nights to cross the ocean, as they came over in a sailing vessel. The old couple are hale and hearty and expect to celebrate several more wedding anniversaries.
