Elkin- Margaret Bunnell-Parks, 87, passed away Tuesday October 8, 2013 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center. Mrs. Parks was born September 2, 1926 in Surry County to the late William Thomas and Sadie Thompson Miles. She was a member of West End Church of Christ.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Charles Buck Bunnell, her second husband James Parks; two children Butch Bunnell and Tony Bunnell four sisters Mattie Bray, Jane Rhodes, Mary Thompson, and Bettie Ratledge; five brothers Robert Miles, James Miles, John Miles, Sam Miles, and John Douglas Miles. She is survived by a grandson Shane (Heather) Bunnell; two great-grandchildren Cole Bunnell and Brianna Bunnell; a brother Joe Bill (Mary) Miles; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday October 10, 2013 at Gentry Family funeral Service in Jonesville. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday October 11, 2013 at Gum Orchard Cemetery by Rev. Pat McCormick. The family would like to say a very special thanks to the staff of Hugh Chatham Nursing Center and Mountain Valley Hospice for the loving care given to Mrs. Parks.
