Mrs. Viergutz died Sunday, May 21, 1995, at the Parkview Nursing Home in Belview.
She was born Sept. 25, 1906, in Vesta Township, Redwood County, to Ferdinand and Bertha (Gutknecht) Werner. She attended a country school. Bruno Viergutz and she were married Oct. 6, 1926. They lived on a farm southeast of Echo until 1948, when they moved to the Viergutz home place. In 1962, they built a home in Echo. After her husband's death in 1987 she continued to live at their home and later moved to Westwood Apartments in Echo. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Echo and the Echo Senior Citizens Center organization where she served as president. She belonged to a card club and was a quilter. She had lived at the Parkview Nursing Home since March 3.
Survivors include sons, Lyle of Delhi, Dennis of Glenwood and Willard of Echo; daughters, Valeria Loges of Minneapolis, Marilyn (Mrs. Steve) Tomnicak of Granite Falls, Sylvia (Mrs. Donald) Novak of Plymouth and Ruth (Mrs. Clair) Gorder of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 15 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; brother, Harry of Belview; and sister, Martha Weiler of Mankato.
