Johnny R. Davis, age 65, of Prestonsburg, Ky., husband of Shirley Rice Davis, died Saturday, December 7 2013 in the Community Hospice Center, Ashland. He was born October 18, 1948 in Martin, a son of the late Mansford and Vina Webb Davis. Johnny was retired from Frito-Lay, a member of the John W. Hall Masonic Lodge and member of the Allen Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one son Rodney (Sharon) Davis, Paintsville, seven brothers, Taulbee Davis, Biloxi, Ms., Elmer Davis, Prestonsburg, Howard Davis, Mi., Delbert Davis, Sevierville, TN, Richard Davis, River, KY., Clarence Davis, East Point, KY, and William Davis, Dandridge, TN., four sisters; Irene Stephens, Allen, KY., Mary Ruth Clay, Cincinnati, OH., Loretta Henderson, Newark, OH and Phoebe Sowards, Flint, MI., two grandsons; John Austin Davis and Grant Davis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Eugene and Harold Davis, and one sister, Ernestine Clay.
Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Arnold Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, Ivel, Kentucky, visitation is after 6 p.m. Monday and all day Tuesday at Hall Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers family ask that memorial contributions be mad to the American Cancer Society or the Community Hospice Center, Ashland, KY. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
