Natalia Gonzalez, 95, of Calexico passed away in her home, due to heart failure, on Monday, September 16, 2013.

Natalia was born on December 1, 1917 in Imperial, CA.

She married Jose G. Gonzalez on April 24, 1936 in Mexicali. She attended Dixie Land School while living in Plaster City and Leona Vicario school in Mexicali. She retired from the Calexico hospital laundry department in 1990. Natalia was the first baby girl registered to be born in Imperial, CA. She was a Pioneer for Iglesia Adventista del Septimo Dia in Calexico and Mexicali.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jose G. Gonzalez; sister, Cruz Rueda; brothers, Justino, Natividad, Edmundo and Ruben Perez; and grandson, Jose Edmundo Gonzalez.

She is survived by her sister, Teresa Cota of Calexico; sons, David Gonzalez of Salinas, CA, Pedro (Zidu) Gonzalez of San Diego, CA; daughters, Natalia (Donato) Oropeza of Calexico, Angelina (Lucio) Camacho of Riverside and Alicia (Ruben) Solis of Calexico; best friend, Felicitas Avila; 20 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grand children.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 27, 2013 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Hems Brothers Mortuary in Calexico. Service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 9 a.m. officiated by Pastor Bernardo Samano and Miguel Mendez at Iglesia Adventista Del Septimo Dia in Calexico. Burial will immediately follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
