Died 9/20/1934 in Wamego KS, from Heart Failure. Spouse Mary Ziegler. Catholic Rel. Resided at 812 Locust St, Wamego KS. Buried 9/22/1934 in St. Bernard Church Cemetery, Wamego, KS. Services at St. Bernard's Chuch in Wamego by Rev. Freeburg at 8:00 a.m. Stewart Funeral Home. Informant Victor Ziegler, Wamego KS. Funeral cost $85.

John Ziegler was born in Kahler, Russia on September 15, 1853 and died at his home in Wamego, September 20, 1934 at the age of 81 years and 5 days.

As a youth in Russia he served as a soldier in the Russian Army and saw active service in Russian-Turkish War. After he retired from military service he was engaged in farming. He came to America with his family in 1889 and engaged in farming Louisville township until 1914. He sold his farm and moved to Wamego where he spent the remainder of his life in retirement.

He is survived by his aged wife, and four children, Chris of Alberta, Canada, Peter and Victor, and Mrs. Louis Arnold of Wamego, several grandchildren and other relatives.

Funeral services were held at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Saturday, September 22nd, at 8:00 a.m. and were conducted by the Rev. Father Freisburg. Burial was in the Catholic Cemetery.

Death of John Ziegler. John Ziegler whose death occurred on Sept. 20, 1934 in Wamego was born in Kahler, Russia on April 15, 1953. Age 81 years, 5 months and 5 days.

He served his early life as a soldier and fought in the Russia-Turkish war. When not in military duty he was engaged in farming. He came with his family to the United States in 1889 and was engaged in farming at Louisville township until 1914. After selling his farm, he moved in Wamego where he spent his last days in retirement.

He leaves to mourn his loss his aged wife and four children; Chris of Alberta, Canada; Peter, Victor and Mrs. Louis Arnold of Wamego

His aged widow who is nearly two years older than her husband still maintains remarkable good health for one of those years.

The funeral services were held Saturday morning from the Church of St. Bernard of Wamego.
