Nicholas Zeigler, 71, Manhattan resident and retired Wamego farmer born in Russia, died at 8:00 o'clock Friday morning at his home, 315 South Fifth.

He retired ten years ago from his farm at Wamego, and had lived for the past eight years in Manhattan. He had lived in Kansas for 35 yrs.

He was born in Kohler, Russia in 1872.

Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Margaret Zeigler; four daughters, Mrs. Eugene T. Tauer at 516 North Third, Mrs. Ray C. Paynter at 316 Colorado, Mrs. James J. Cunningham at 302 Tyler in Topeka, and Miss Helen T. Zeigler of the home, four sons; Val E. Zeigler at 316 Colorado; Clarence J. Zeigler at 522 Huston, and Pvt. Julius T. Zeigler in Ft. Benning, Ga., as well as four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 6, at the Church of the Seven Dolors. Interment was in Wamego. The casket was not opened at the church. Friends of the family reviewed the remains at the Conroy funeral home. Msgr. A. J. Luckey was in charge of the service.
