John E. Breit, 91, 547 Wabash, died Sunday in a Topeka hospital where he was admitted Friday. He had been admitted to the same hospital last Oct. 9 after he suffered cerebral hemorrhage.

He was born Jan. 21, 1887 at Pfeiffer, Russia, and lived in Topeka 50 years. He was a custodian for the Morrell Packing Company before he retired. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

He was married to Mary C. Kinderknecht Feb. 7, 1928 at Hays. She survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Mary Ann Briet, at home, and Mrs. Theresa Gotzbach, 5013 E. 26th Ter.; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Breit will lie in state at Brennan Funeral Home where a scripture service is planned at 7 p.m. and a Ladies of Columbus rosary will be recited at 7:15 p.m. today.
