Well Known Farmer Dies From Apoplexy
Whitewater, Oct 20. - Carl Engel, who lives south of town, died very suddenly yesterday morning. He was just outside the house when he was striken with apoplexy and lived but a short time. Mr. Engel was seventy-eight years of age. He had been in poor health, but for a time had been feeling much better and his death was a shock to the family and community. Mr. Engel was a native of Germany and for many years lived on his farm south of Clover Valley. For some time he has made his home with his only daughter, Mrs. Delia Peterson, who lives on the adjoining farm. Besides the daughter, he leaves two sons, Theodore Engel, who also lives with Mrs. Peterson, and Amos Engel, who lives on the home farm. The funeral will be Thursday afternoon from the Peterson home.
