Christine was the daughter of Joseph and Christine Grobmeier. She married William Leuer in Oct 1944 in Carroll, Iowa.

Feb 9, 1971 - Carroll Daily Times - Requiem mass for Mrs. Christine Leuer, 69, of Carroll, was celebrated at 1 p.m. Monday in St. Lawrence Church. She died Feb. 5 at the Carroll Health Center following a long illness.

The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Henry B. Karhoff officiated. Pallbearers were Elmer Friedman, Dr. Donald J. Casey, Lambert Thelen, James Kratoska, William Lux, and Mike Wittrock. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Arrangements were in charge of the Sharp Funeral Home.

Mrs. Leuer was born at Harlan July 15, 1902, a daughter of Joseph and Christine Grobmeier, and came to Carroll about 1921.

She was married to William Leuer in October, 1944 at St. Lawrence Church and the couple lived in Lidderdale, where Mr. Leuer operated a hardware store. He retired and they moved to 421 West 18th Street in Carroll in 1956. Mrs. Leuer was a member of St. Lawrence Church, the Catholic Daughters of America and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Marie Vance of Omaha, Neb.; Betty Grobmeier, Los Angeles, Calif.; and Mrs. Josephine Strutzel, Coral Gables, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her husband in September, 1966; one sister and three brothers.
