Sophie Daskalakis, 89, formerly of Allentown, died Tuesday in Valley Manor Nursing Center, Coopersburg. She was the wife of the late George Daskalakis.

She was co-owner and operator of the former George's Restaurant, N. 7th Street, Allentown, for many years before retiring in 1960.

Born in Chicago, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Josephine (Kielbasa) Russin.

She was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, Bethlehem.

Survivors: Daughters, Harriet A. [G.], wife of Stephen Zahradnik, and Dolores, wife of Ronald R. Ritter, both of Allentown, Mary Jo Adams of Bend, Ore., Irene D., wife of Joseph B. Kane of Bethlehem, and Mrs. Sandra Sample of Montrose, Susquehanna County; brother Edward of Allison, Fayette County; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son Charles.
