The following info received May 6, 2008 from a Darby relative.

Joseph Darby is buried at the center of the cemetery. His tombstone has 2 trees on it.

On one side is his first wife, Ann Grow Darby,
Feb 15, 1777 - June 30, 1806 & on the other, his 2nd wife, Asenath Tyler Darby 1779 - 1852.

Joseph's Father is buried on the edge of the cemetery. The John Keep Barns can be seen from his tombstone

Joseph's Father was Eleazer Darby born July 6, 1731 in Canterbury, CT, died Jan 31, 1813. He is buried on the edge of the cemetery. The John Keep Barns can be seen from his tombstone

The Darby's lived on East River Road in Homer since 1802 when they migrated from Cortland. Anna Grow Darby (1777-1806) was the daughter of Thomas Grow & Experience Goodell Grow from Hampton CT.

Her Mother, Experience Grow Goodell was the daughter of Ebenezer Goodell & Experience Lyon Goodell. Her Grandfather, Ebenezer Goodell had a brother named Corporal Edward Goodell married to Lydia Eaton.

Edward & Lydia had a son named Daniel Goodell. He was married to Frances Craft Goodell. Their daughter was Frances Goodell who was married to Judge John Keep that owned the John Keep farm.

Jabez 1727-1805 & Sarah Chandler Keep 1730-1819 were John Keeps' parents, buried in the cemetery, as you found.

Frances Goodell married to Judge John Keep had a sister named Lydia who married Darius Kinne. They lived less than one mile from Judge John Keeps farm, & some of their descendants may be buried there.

Another sister, Susan Goodell, married to Benjamin Knight also lived less than 1 mile from her sisters & cousin Anna Grow Darby on East River Road.

Joseph Darby had a son Lyman who married Cynthia Salisbury. Cynthia's parents were Benjamin Salisbury & Lydia Stone.

I believe Benjamin's stone is lying on the ground, with writing all around the edges of it, just as you take the normal path up the hill onto the ledge where the cemetery lies.

Cynthia's brother Elisha married Alice Kinne, sister of Darius that was married to Lydia Keep. These folks by the way were somewhat distantly related as Experience Goodell' Grow's sister, Miriam Goodell was married to Ira Kinne, father of Elisha & Darius Kinne.

Miriam's daughter Miriam Kinne was married to Prospect Cravath by Judge John Keep & this is noted in the "making of America" series on-line.

Many others of the Kinne/Goodell/Salisbury/Peck clan that all went to the Homer Baptist Church may be buried in this cemetery.

We had a short period of time to examine it in 1998 & found our Darby's but wish we could go back & find other if they are there as well, but perhaps the stones are too illegible to even be chalked any more to see what they say.
