Paul Mesenbrink

Paul Mesenbrink, 82, formerly of Libertyville, died Aug. 7 at his home in Lake Geneva, Wisc. He was born Nov. 16, 1916 in Melrose Park, Ill. to the late Emil and Lydia Mesenbrink.

Paul was educated in elementary and high schools in Libertyville, and attended the Illinois Institute of Technology which prepared him for his life's work as a tool and die maker, the last 37 years at Trimm, Inc. in Libertyville.

Mr. Mesenbrink supported his community as a caring citizen. He served on the Libertyville Elementary School Board for 12 years and for several years on the Lake County School Board. He also gave his talents on various committees and boards and went through the rank of officers to the president of the congregation of St. John's Lutheran Church in Libertyville.

Upon his retirement in Lake Geneva, he was a member of the Lake Seniors, Geneva Lakes Investment Club and the First Evangelical Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Doris, his devoted wife of more than 61 years, and known as Daddy Paul to daughters Joyce and Camilla. He was also known as Pop or Papa Paul by his many friends and ambassadors in Friendship Force International. The years spent in Friendship Force meant many visits and friends world wide. Also surviving are two sisters, Getrude Nelson of Grayslake and Frances Kokalblas of Libertyville, as well as many other relatives that will miss this fine fella.

Funeral services were held Aug. 10 in Lake Geneva. Memorial contributions can be made to the Salvation Army or charity of your choice in his memory.
