Michael Weins, of Austin, died Monday evening, Nov. 21, 2005, suddenly at his home.
Michael was born Aug. 2, 1950, to Michael and Donna (Fritzinger) Weins in St. Paul, Minn., where he grew up and married Kathleen Vahl on May 29, 1970. He moved to Austin in 1979 and bought the Dairy Queen. A member of the Catholic faith, he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Weins; one son, Douglas Weins; one daughter, Angela Weins, all of Austin, Minn.; one sister, Donna (Barney) Barron, White Bear Lake, Minn.; one brother, Larry (Amber) Weins, St. Paul, Minn.; many nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005, at Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Austin, with Father Dale Tupper officiating. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Worlein Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment is at Oakwood Cemetery.
The family prefers memorials to donors’ choice.
